UK Passport Eligibility

Hi there, I am wondering if I qualify for a UK passport.

I was born in 1983 in South Africa. My birth mother was born in England and moved to South Africa when 5. I am not sure if she had a UK passport at the time of my birth. Her parents were both born in England. I was adopted by parents who were both South African citizens(non-british). I moved to Australia and am now an Australian citizen. My birth mother now lives in England and is a british citizen. I would ideally like to get dual citizenship Australian/British.

But there does not seem to be any info about being after 1983 to a british mother.

Any info would be muchly appreciated!

If you were born in 1983 to a British born mother then you are a British citizen. Apply for a British passport as proof.

Being adopted out to non-British parents does not cause loss of British citizenship, HOWEVER can you prove the link to your natural mother?
