PSW: confused about its duration, plz help

PSW: confused about its duration, plz help

I have heard that PSW would be allowed till april 2012. My husband has finished his MSC degree and we are now planning to apply for PSW in august. Please let me know that if we apply would we get visa for two years or just for 9 months i.e. from august to april 2012. Please help me sorting out this situation.
