can i apply for ILR when working in workpermit and tier2 ?

Hi Friends,

First, thanks to all the people who take time to share their experience and help others. I have a situation and i think some one can help me on this. I came to UK in company workpermit in 2007, my work permit was given for 2 years. Later it got extended for another year as work permit, after that my 4th year extension was given as residence permit (Tier 2 (Intra company transfer)). My company told they will extend my visa one more time. I am having doubt, whether i am eligible to apply for ILR @2012 ? (when i complete my 5 years stay in country). I heard that they are stopping ILR soon, will that affect me? Appreciate if any one can assist me on this.

ILR is not going to be scrapped. But I think theICT is going to be a problem in getting ILR.

Thanks mk357 for your quick response, i really appreciate it. Does it mean i wont be able to get my ILR at the end of 5th year. . Any chance of luck if i approach solicitors ? please advice.
