You will need to provide more information in order to answer this question:

- When was your mother born? Where?
- When were you born ? Where?

I was born in Rome in 1979, my mum was born in Kent in the 1957

I'm now in England for the last past three years, and my daughter born here last year.

Is your father also British? If yes, then you are British.

If only your mother is British, then you are not British. However, you can register as British. See more here. The only cost for the application is £80 for the citizenship ceremony.

If your mother was British from birth and born in the UK, you don't need to provide additional information about your grandparents.
See chapter 4 of the guide with regards to documents you need to provide with the application.

If you don't have your mother full UK birth certificate, you can request one from the GRO.

According to this, Italy now allows to have dual citizenship so you can keep your Italian citizenship.
