so when did u apply?
I applied 10 June at NCS Sutton (family application). Application received by UKBA 13 June, payment taken 21 June and decision made 13 July. Decision posted 18 July.
Ours is very similar timelines except my payment was taken on the 23rd.
Eventhough I called them on Friday last week and was confirmed a decision taken I beleive mine would be posted on the 18th too...unlike Vipuls which was posted last week!

Best Wishes

No I haven't. I was tempted to do so though, as I called the Council this morning. They asked me for my Home Office reference number, which I assumed was the same one on my acknowledgement letter. However, I was wary of booking a ceremony, and then not receiving my approval letter in time enough for my chosen date. My understanding is that without the physical approval letter, the Council would not allow you to attend a ceremony.

I am hopeful that my letter will arrive by the weekend though, so I think it makes sense to wait.

Yes, that's right. Last time I got fined I'd done nothing wrong but they fined me anyway over the condition of my tyres. This has made me paranoid because there must be tons of other things that could be wrong and I don't know about. Last time I got a FPN was November so if I got another one now I'd be stuffed. I can't risk it.
(not to mention the risk of accidentally turning into a bus lane, of not realising you are 5mph over the limit, things like these. They can happen.)

got child's certificate (Edited)

Post by a1977capri » Wed Jul 20, 2011 9:21 pm

Hi guys
i applied for my wife and daughter's naturalization on 17 Jun together. today i got child's registration document. does that mean decision for my wife has been made or there can be time lag. do they process application separately?

Update
Called helpline today and they told me that my wife's decision was sent on 20th. it means that even if applied together, decision can be sent separately. strange but may happen.since i am not a British citizen, i believe my wife's decision is success otherwise why would they give citizenship to child only.
any comments on above?

Did you submit as a family application (as a single submission at an NCS centre or via post) or did you send these in separately? If as a family application, then both should come together. I sent in a family application and initially thought that my daughter's certificate would come separately but when I called UKBA, I was told that all would be decided together and decision would be provided in a single batch of communication.

I advise you call UKBA tomorrow and confirm what the position is re your wife's application.

Is "under consideration" just a generic term, it does it imply that I have been assigned to a case worker? The person I spoke to on the phone would not clarify.

Its probably being decided, otherwise the call operator would have said awaiting consideration or awaiting allocation.

Just to say that our approvals arrived in the post this morning, for myself, my wife and my daughter. I have just called the Council to try and arrange a private ceremony, and am expecting them to call me back.

Many thanks to everyone on this forum who has posted information at one point in time or the other which has encouraged or enlighten. Here's hoping everyone gets good news in the coming days.

Now onto ceremony and passport application!

I submitted my application on the 20th May and there was a problem in the payment and was taken out on the 22nd June :(. just called today and was told waiting for allocation.

I am not putting much hope for my application to be accepted anyway but just would like to know the decision and get my passport back.
