Post by Gekko » Tue Jul 26, 2011 7:43 am

hello,

I got interview with registery office in two day time.for marriage... how long do i need to wait for result or approal to get married?

my visa is expired after one week of my interview at registory. Can i still wait for that result and get married at local council?
or do i have to wait that result and go back and apply from my home county? my gf is asylum so she can't go back home with me.
what FLR(o) form for? Can i used that form to apply for short visa for the time between my visa expired date and marriage date just to be in country and arange for marriage.

Please advice me asap.

If your girlfriend has only Limited Leave to Remain on her grant of asylum, she may not be able to sponsor you as her spouse. Marrying in the UK won't extend your legal residence here. You really need to seek legal advice.

Assuming OP's partner does have limited leave as a refugee, see Requirements for leave to enter the United Kingdom as the spouse or civil partner of a person with limited leave to enter or remain in the United Kingdom as a refugee or beneficiary of humanitarian protection which allows refugees to sponsor post flight spouses, but not there is no provision for leave to remain, only leave to enter.

I agree OP needs to seek legal advice
