Please Help!! Can we apply for spouse visa before marriage?

Hello,

My brother is travelling to India on 23rd October and getting married on the 30th October to an Indian National. He wants to return back to the UK along with his spouse on the 20th November 2011.

Can his spouse in India make an application to the Jalandhar VFS now before they get married on the 30th Oct? and then show evidence of marriage certificate/photos at the interview date in BHC Delhi after the marriage?

As you can understand they would both like to return together, rather then waiting for her arrival at Heathrow.

Any other advice you can give would be great.

Unfortunately no. Also his timescale may be over optimistic as spouse visa applications submitted in India take 12 weeks on average to process.
