Period of Grant - Switching from Tier 2 (ICT) to Tier 1

Hi,

I recently got my Tier 1 done, I applied last week of March 2011 and recently received my BRP and all relevant documents.

I expected my Tier 1 to be for 3 years whereas UKBA gave period of grant for only 2 years. Is it something to look into.

Firstly Is my understanding correct that I should get grant for 3 years as its switching from Tier 2 and not an extension of my Existing Tier 1. Only in Extension Period of grant is given for 2 years else its 3 years.

UKBA indicates:

245CB. Period and conditions of grant
(a) Leave to remain will be granted for a period of 2 years, to an applicant who has, or was last granted, leave as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant under the Rules in place before 6 April 2010.
(b) in all other cases, leave to remain will be granted for a period of 3 years.

Please help in getting some clarity and what options I have to chase this. Can I appeal for reconsidering my Period of Grant.
