HMRC letter about tax and income

i have a part time job which pays me cash and i pay the net amount every week in my account . my employer pays the tax and NI .is there any way that i can get a letter from HMRC saying that all tax have been paid for the 1 yr income. can someone please tell me how can i get this letter.

I'm fairly convinced that HMRC won't do this for you I'm afraid. The only reason that I say definitely won't is because they can cause the odd surprise. The whole matching process would involve a lot of work and they just don't have the manpower.

Paying the tax across to HMRC that has been withheld from your pay is the responsibility of the company so you've proved all that you can with your payslips. These and your P60 would be able to show UKBA that you pay tax. If you need any more persuasive evidence then you could always ask your employer or accountant for a letter.

MY company is already issuing me payslip weekly and the employer pays my tax quarterly ,everything is regualr,just wanted to make sure the case worker is fully satisfied about the tax payment as the job pays me cash in hand. i will apply for the tier 1 extension in match 2012 so i wont be able to submit P60 ,but as i will leave the job in December 2011 ,my employer will give me a P45 ,will it be ok to submit P45 ,also i can ask a letter from the accountant ablut the tax payment on my job. Do you think this will be sufficient evidence for the tax paid in the job

I wouldn't dream of second guessing what a case worker would do but at least from the point of view as an auditor it would suffice. The P45 is, in effect, a straight swap for a P60 (by that I mean it has the same information) and an accountant's letter would be third party confirmation.

Again though, this is given from the point of view of an accountant and not a UKBA case worker.

UKBA is not there to enforce whether or not tax is paid - that's for the HMRC to do. However, if they see something illegal happening, they have to report it which could affect their decision, but the burden of proof lies with them. I don't see why you would need to prove that you are paying tax - if your employer says they are paying tax and you get the net amount, that should be enough.

you need two sources of proof PAYSLIP AND BANK STATEMENT which shows the NET amount and matches your PAYSLIP's Net amount. You are fine. its up to employer to pay the taxes
