AFAIK you should have a long term visa (>6 months) for the UK before you can apply for a Schengen visa in the UK. In the event that you want to try any way, be warned that you have to schedule an appointment in about 3 weeks and then it takes another week or so to get the visa. I have heard that the Spanish embassy is quite slow, so it could be even longer.

There is no way to fast-track this.

Hi,

Recently, Ireland has started a waiver programme wherein you (as an Indian citizen) can travel to Ireland with your UK tourist visa.

More details here: http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/WP11000005

Yes, one would need a schengen to travel to Swiss. And you cannot apply from within Uk if you are travelling on a tourist visa. The person had to apply for a schengen from India itself before coming to UK to travel to Swiss from UK.

If there are any websites stating that you don't need a visa for Switzerland, it is outdated. Switzerland only recently (last three years I think), joined the Schengen zone.
