Tier 1 (G) re-application will not be succesful, my options?

Post by ykns » Fri Aug 12, 2011 12:05 pm

Hello all,

Here's some background into my situation.
Date of birth: 1980-12-07
Visa application date: 2010-05-23
Visa start date: 2010-08-30
Visa expiry date: 2012-08-30
Age (at date of application for first grant): 29
Qualification: Bachelor's degree
Previous earnings: 28K
Uk Experience: Yes
Total points for Attributes: 65pts

If I have understood the t1-general-guidance.pdf correctly I need a the minimum 75 pts for Attributes. I'm nearly a year into my visa with just over one year remaining, if I do get a higher paying job (i.e. 35k or above), I will have not made sufficient income in the last 12 months before my visa re-application, as I need to apply 28 days before my visa ends. Now my question stands, do I have any options? Possible work sponsorship?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Why do you need to send your application in 28 days before your current leave expires?

Well from what I've read that's right amount of time, leaving it until the last week might be a bit close? Also, I think delaying re-application by 3 weeks isn't really going to help my chances.

You need to send your application before it expires. The 28 days guideline is just there to say that don't send it before than or they'll issue visa earlier...

Just make sure you get a proof of postage when sending the application.

Goodluck.

If you make a postal application then as long as you post it before your current leave expires, then you will be considered to have made an in-time application. Provided your applicaiton is made in time, then you are allowed to remain in the UK while it is processed and during any subsequent appeal.

Make sure you send the application by registered post.

The only problem you might face is if your application is invalid (that is, if you use the wrong form, or fail to include the correct payment). For peace of mind, you can use a Postal Order or Bankers Draft for payment, so there is no concern about your bank or credit card refusing payment.

Okay thanks, I will note that down for future reference.

Just as an aside, is work sponsorship or alternative visas an option?
