Part time jobs are not excluded from the business and commercial category in which you try to get a WP. However, you may be prejudiced at the "resident worker search" stage if resident competitors will surface.

HI Team

Thanks for your advise, I have managed to get a job into teaching again but in a FE college. Currently working in a secondary school, teaching is under tier 1 applications. I am just not sure when my employer will fill Work Permit form he has to show all the job advertisement etc. Even though it is a very similar kind of job. I mean to fill tier 2.

I noticed that I have to fill one form myself as well FLR(IED), Do I need it to send separate or along with my WP1 form. Do I have to pay £153 for my wife as well, because college has refused to pay my fees as well. So I decided to pay myself.

Can Home office send Passport direct to me after making the decision because college will be closed and I do need to travel abroad during summer holidays.

Best Regards

Sam

Sam,

Under WP rules you can work in supplementary employment i.e. in same field but with different employer and as a second job (as opposed to it being the main one) without needing a WP. The issue here is the 'similarity' in material taught in Sec schol vs FE College - if its say GCSE's, GCE's in both institutions then you are o.k.

Accordingly there is no need for fresh FLR - the one you have should suffice subject to it being valid and the secondary school employment continuing when you re-enter the UK. Make sure taxes and NI contributions are deducted as relevant for both jobs. You can send me half the WP fee and the FLR fee for my advice  - actually splash it on the missis..am sure she deserves it. Have a good holiday.

PS - I have deleted your duplicate Q

Hi Kayalami

Thank you very much to reply my query, actually it will be my new job because my present employment contract and work permit will be going to finish by the end of August. So I managed to get a new job. My present job is in a school, the future will be in a FE college, I will be teaching only to A' level classes. My employer is applying for a new WP, Do I need to fill FLR or not?

I am not sure, please advise me on this issue and how much time it will take to get this process done by WP Team.

Best regards

Sam
