Switching from Tier 5 YMS Visa to a Spouse Visa

Post by ax_fair » Mon Aug 22, 2011 10:32 am

Hey everyone,

Im really confused right now with what I need to be doing. I keep getting mixed information from sources, so I was wondering if anyone has gone through a similar situation and can help.

I am a Canadian National working in the UK on a Tier 5 visa. I met my fiance while working here and we have decided to stay in the UK for a few more years. He is a British National and we are getting married in October of this year and my YMS visa ends April 2012.

Can we apply for a spouse visa from within the UK or do I need to return to Canada and apply from there? I live here and have rent and bills to pay, so obviously I do not want to have to leave the country and my husband for long.
If anyone has any insights or has gone through the same thing please let me know.

Thank you!

Even though I am here on a Tier 5 visa?
We just really want to make sure before we spend the money.
