Tier 1 General Extension- outside UK for few months

Post by jeets23 » Fri Aug 26, 2011 11:42 am

Hi,

My Tier1 General was approved on Mar 2009 and currently it's valid until Mar-2012. I had applied from UK.
I had to go back to India for approx. 8 months (Oct-2010 to July 2011). Though i was working for the same company in India.
Now i am back at UK in July this year. My query here is can i still apply for my Tier1 Extension? Or would it be refused due to the 8 months gap (outside UK).

Many Thanks
Jeet

The gap is not relevant to extensions as long as you have sufficient points (salary) to extend. However, yuou will have reset the start date of the five year residence period that leads to ILR. This will now begin on the date of your return to the UK.
