HSMP Application Earning Points

Post by javeed » Fri Jul 09, 2004 10:57 am

Hi All,

I am in process of preparing for HSMP Application. An Expert Advice from you all nice fellows:

1. Education: BSc Engineering - PAK = 15 Points
2. Graduate Level 13 Year Experience including 5 year Senior Level = 50
3. Past Earnings

I live in UAE and 40000 GBP required for 25 Points

My Situation is that I get:

Take Home Tax Free = 27,507 GBP
Housing provided at cost = 10,352 GBP
Air Tickets Annually = 1000 GBP
Full Medical Insurance Provided by Employer = Myself + Spouse + 3 Children

4. My Spouse is BA in Geography - PAK = ??? Points

Please advise about past earnings ... Will I get points or not...

An Urgent advice will be highly appreciated...

Hi Javeed,
On the salary count. I guess the air tickets, medical/health cover/housing etc are not going to part of ur earned income. Such emoluments are not added. Even retire benefits ( differed payments) are also not added.

On the spouse points, u have to show that u r living together else points are not awarded. Apart from that Graduation BA degree should be fine to gain 10 points.

On the 50 points claim on experience. Make sure you have reference letters from your past employer as well as the present employer( or at least immediate work line manager/director reference letter).
Also will so much experience make sure u have minimum interview offers ( if not job offers) that will weightage your experience claim.

best of luck

(I have posted today my application for hsmp. Lets hope for the best. I guess need to wait for 3-4 months.)

Dear Javeed
If your spouse have done 2 years BA from Pakistan you may not get the spouse points as the Pakistna BA degree is not equivalent to UK graduation.

zahid,
they are not that strict at spouse degree. You don't fear for it. With regards to your income, exclude all the benifits, interest, rent etc. Your experience and your degree will earn you your HSMP inshaallah!!.
