Eligibility for spouse with 4 years

Post by BCseeker » Fri Aug 26, 2011 4:55 pm

Hello, I am eligibile for BCitizenship as spent more than 6 yrs. in the UK and received ILR last year. However my wife also got ILR alogn with my last year but spent only 4 years in UK. So does that make her eligible for naturlisation to apply for BCitizenship along with me.

Regards

When you are granted citizenship, she may then apply based on her marriage to a British citizen, has ILR, and has spent three years in the UK. Her eligibility is based entirely on you being granted citizenship but I don't see why you can't bundle the applications and ask for them to be treated in tandem (first yours, then hers).

No, your wife cant apply with you (because of not living for five years before the application), but once you get your citizenship, your wife can apply
