My wife recently received her ILR. I am currently in UK on company sponsored work permit (Tier 2). I want to switch now to dependent visa using FLR M form (in country application).

Few basic questions.
1) my current visa is valid till 2013. I hope the switch to dependent visa can be done even long before the expiry of current visa.
2) English language proofs: I can provide my bachelor degree certificate and a letter from NARIC. Is it sufficient?

The guidance notes says that if degree is from non english speaking country then "you must also submit evidence to show that the degree was taught in English and is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in the UK. For any qualifications taught outside the UK, you must provide a letter from UK NARIC confirming that your qualification is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in the UK"

The way i understand it is that NARIC letter is just a confirmation that the qualification is equivalent to UK Bachelors degree. How do we prove that the degree was taught in english.

3) FLR (m) is the right form for me. isnt it?

Describe what is says on the degree certificate. It is in English and does it mention that the degree was taught in English? Otherwise, in the absence of other evidence, you will need to have NARIC confirm this for you:

UK NARIC has confirmed that the academic qualification was taught or
researched in English

Certificate is in english but it doesnt say that the course was taught in english. Does it mean i need two certificates from NARIC.

1) To prove that bachelors degree is equivalent to the one in UK
2) To prove that the degree is taught in english.

They have a service for english language assessment. I dont know whether this is sufficient for both (bachelor degree check and english check) or not.

May be i am reading too much into this requirement.

Any success stories with NARIC certificate?

No. That is something completely different. That service will equate a foreign qualification in English proficiency to it's equivalent ESOL or whatever. It's not about confirming that a foreign degree in say, physics or economics, was taught in the English language.
