IDLR Ten years - Please advise

Post by coolbanana » Wed Sep 07, 2011 5:33 pm

I am planning to apply for permanent residence next year in february in Croydon based on the ten year long stay option. I first arrived in the UK on the 1/03/2002 and my current visa expires on the 28/03/2012. I just have a few questions regarding my application. Please advise.

1. When I first arrived in the UK i had a valid visa however I flew from Dublin to London as I had been working in the Republic of Ireland for a short period. I landed at Gatwick and at the time there was no passport control so my passport was not stamped. How will this affect my application? Upon arrival I went to stay with my father in London who is a british citizen , and he can provide verification that I was staying with him.

2. My first visa was for two years and one week before it expired I was in an accident and admitted to hospital for a broken leg. This meant I was unable to send my new application away in time and overstayed. However once I was able to walk again I sent an application through and was granted a new visa without having to leave the UK. This took about two months. What documents do i need to provide as evidence of this when i submit my application?

3. Is there a financial requirement for this type of application? Ihavent seen any mention of this in the guidance notes.

4. Besides passports, visas, etc. what other documents can you recomend i take with me?

Your feedback is appreciated.

I'm afraid that is not possible! You are obliged to apply by post.

Our public enquiry offices cannot consider your application if you are:
applying for permanent residence on the basis of 10 or 14 years' residence;
