KOL Test and SAR File

Hi everyone
I first entered the UK in Oct 2001 as a visitor(my country doesn't need a visa to vist the UK for 6mths or less) then i returned home 3wks before my 6mths visit period was up(4th Apr 2002).
I was enrolled in a college before i returned home to apply for a student entry clearance.After 1mth 3wks(1st June 2002) i returned to the UK with a student entry clearance and i'm still a student up to this day.

I'm hoping to apply for ILR based on long residence in Sept 2011.
When should i take the KOL test?
I intend to ask for my SAR file as well.when shall i request it?

Take the KOL test whenever you're ready.
You may as well apply for your SAR file now.

As Vinny says take it whenever you are ready but I would advise DONT think you can just answer the questions.

You will have to study the chapers 2 to 6 inclusive of the Life in the UK book to pass. The questions are not general knowledge. As a British citizen messing around on the test pages I only managed 11 of the 24 questions. I certainly didn't know what year (1857 I think) it became legal for a woman to divorce her husband in this country .... not that I'm planning too ... LOL ....

Not to frighten you but questions are not difficult, every time I did them before reading any book, I got 80% right, however you should read the book carefully esp if youre not used to UK culture and lifestyle.My son took about 10 minutes to finish the test and got only one wrong.

Came to the UK as a visitor then returned to my home country to apply for a student entry clearance.
I had valid leave on my visitor stay when i left the UK.
spent 1mth 2wks in my home country then returned to the UK.

Can my time as a visitor count towards 10yrs ILR?
