TIER 4, VISA application processed

Post by maurogaya » Thu Sep 22, 2011 10:25 pm

Hello everybody
I applied for a TIER 4 GENERAL STUDENT VISA on Tuesday 13th, September.Since then, I received two e-mails from the UKBA:
The first (On tuesday 20th): "Your application has arrived safely at the Rio de Janeiro office and is currently being processed"
The second (On Thursday 22nd, today): "Your VISA application at Rio de Janeiro has been processed. Your documents will shortly be despatched.

What does "Your VISA application has been processed" mean? Because, It does not say that it was issued...

Has anyone received the same e-mail?

Thanks!

Mauro

Mauro. Did the email come from an fco.gov.uk domain or from Worldbridge? I don't want to worry you (as the email notification format may have been changed recently) but, in the past, it was usual for the Rio EC Hub to send an email that stated the visa had been issued, rather than, as in your case, saying it has been processed. The former is an indication of a positive outcome wheras the latter is a neutral statement offering no assurances. In the past, in the case of a refusal, no email was emitted and the applicant only became aware of their fate when they opened the package that contained the refusal notice.

I would appreciate it if you could inform the forum of the outcome so that people may know how the UKBA operates in these matters.

Well there is no need to worry yet. It's perfectly possible that the UKBA has changed their procedures and have now instigated a policy of sending everyone an email with a neutral statement rather than just sending an email to only those that have received a positive outcome while leaving everyone else to sweat it out until the postman arrives. So getting this email is certainly a new development as it differs from the old procedures. I personally think it would be an improvement if they have adopted this policy as it was always obvious that those who did not get the has been issued email had certainly been refused. Boa sorte!

I got the same email

Post by bayke » Fri Sep 23, 2011 4:03 am

Hi,
I did receive on 21th sep an email saying that the outcome of my VISA application was "ready", this e-mail comes from fco.gov.uk domain. the e-mail also says that they will let me know as soon as possible when I can pick my passport up. I'm so worried about this neutral statement. I was expecting an email saying "your VISA has been issued" 'cos two of my friends received an email like that two weeks ago.
maurogaya, pleas let us know about your outcome.

Cheers

E.

Hi there!
I received an e-mail saying Your VISA application has been processed.
I was very nervous because it didn't say the word ISSUED as other e-mails.
Today I collected my passport and ... I was given the visa.
So if you receive an email saying "Your VISA application has been processed", don't lose the hope.

Blessings :P

Parabens!.....and thanks for the update. It's obvious that policy has changed (for the better) and that everyone now gets the same message irrespective of the outcome.
