Question filling MN1 form section 2.3

Post by Sreeman » Thu Sep 22, 2011 5:43 pm

My son(2 years old) was outside UK for major part and travelled to different countries without returning to UK. I face problem in filling in the details.
Born in October 2009, He has been to India from Dec 2009 till May 2010
And then he stayed in the US from May 2011 till August 2010 (directly travelled from India to US)
Returned back to India and satayed in India from August 2010 till Feb 2011 (Directly returned to India from US and returned to UK on Feb 2011)

In the section -

" 2.3 -Please give details of all absences from the United Kingdom and the British overseas territories during the period of residence".

For each visit I am expected to provide details of country visited and “fromâ€

Don't worry. His absences are not relevant to his entitlement.

Hi Vinny,

Thanks for response. The question and problem I am facing is fillling the details in the form.

At Section 2.3 for each visit of my son I need to mention when he arrived or leave UK but on each visit he either did not start from UK or returned to UK.

Example: 1) Ref section MN1 2.3, If I need to provide details of my son's India visit from Dec 2009 till May 2010

Then I can provide details of outbound ie visit to India on XX December 2009 but problem is filling the inbound details when he returned to UK. as he did not returned back to UK but travelled directly to US from India.

Hope I am able to explain you the problem

Thanks
S

The HO is not interested in your child's travel itinerary. They simply ask when he was absent from the UK so you can write:

Country visited: India/US
Date of departure from UK: Dec 2009
Date of return to the UK: Feb 2011
number of days: XXX (you do the math).
