Quote from a council website "The Home Office will normally expect you to have your ceremony within 11 weeks from the date of receiving your notification. If you do not think you will be able to attend a ceremony within this period, you may apply to the Home Office for an extension"SAARTHI wrote:My Citizen application have been approved.
I am here on HSMP (JR) since last 5 years and 6 Months
Citizenship ceremony Invitation letter is dated 02/09/2011.
I have certain property issue back home in India.
If I attend ceremony, and take citizenship have adverse effect on property matter.
I understand one gets only Three months from the date of Invitation letter.
I understand I should attend ceremony by 02/12/2011
I need to delay it for three/Four months that is till 02/04/2012
Is there any way by which it can be delayed?
Is there any application/procedure to be done?
If not what are the consequences?
Will I have to apply and pay fees again?
Is it only for payment of fees or whole process is to be done again?
Will this delay have adverse effect in future.
I am in a dilemma as to what is to be done.
Note: My wife have already become Citizen
