ILR: Evidence: Business Trip exceeding 90 days

Post by britishdrakula » Sun Sep 25, 2011 11:57 pm

Dear experts,

Let me take this opportunity to thank you for your support until now while submitting the ILR application.

Background:
I have recently applied for ILR (approx. 6 weeks back) and paid the premium service fee while submitting the applications. The application was accepted but ILR was not granted on the same day as I had several (400+ days) absences from UK. The reason was one of these absences was more than 90 days.

Although, I have submitted original letters from the previous and current employer(s) indicating that all these travels were taken to fulfill the business objectives, I was informed that my case has been referred to someone Sr. for further investigation.

Rest of the things are clear in my case (i.e. 5 Yrs Legal Stay, Tier 1 points, Income, Cohabitation, etc)

During last week, I received a letter from home office soliciting more evidence (within 14 days) to elaborate the 90+ days absence from the UK. In the initial letter, my previous employer has specified the places where I had been for business purpose. Home office has pointed out that I had already been to these places for short duration before and after this long (90+ days) absence from UK and HO would like to have a reason for the same.

My employer seems to be OK to provide a letter which can justify the necessity. However, they are not having the contents (i.e. how to justify the same)?

Can you please guide me this situation?
Has anyone ever gone through similar situation?

What do you mean when you say that "your employer doesn't know how to justify the necessity"?

1. You / your employer have the reasons for your absence but don't know how to present them in a letter, or
2. You are asking the forum to help you with plausible reasons / examples to prove your absences as business related?

Thanks...I guess the point number 1 is more appropriate as employer [HR Department] seems to be bit unknown with this kind of matter...and thats where point no. 2 comes into the picture....Can someone help me with the plausible reasons / examples to prove your absences as business related so that HR Department can prepare something for me?

The forum is not be used to solicit "ideas".

That no one in your organisation who can pen down the "actual reasons" for your absences is bit too off!!
