ILR

Hi

I need some information on ILR(PErmanent Residence).I am on a dependent visa on my husband's Work Permit and we would be elgible to apply for ILR very soon.I have a son (from my 1st marriage) who is in India,My Questions are
1)Once I get ILR along with my husband - will I be still be a Dependent or
2)Can I sponsor my son individually to bring him to UK and on what status can I bring him.Can I apply for his ILR in India.

Please let me know

If he's under 18 and you have sole responsibility over him (assuming his father is alive), etc., then you may sponsor him.

Hi

Thanks for your response...Yes my son is under 18years his natural father expired and I am the sole responsibility for his upbringing....but my doubt is once i get my ILR will i still be classed as dependent or can i sponsor my son without any problem

An ILR holder is not classified as a dependent.

Yes, your son may apply for a child settlement visa, subject to the MAA requirements.
