Some questions for my wife's ILR

Post by philwafc » Sun Oct 02, 2011 12:42 pm

Hello all.

I have some questions regarding my wife's application for ILR.
For the record i'm British and she is Ethiopian.

I've had a look on the UKBA website and i'm not sure I understand the earliest date she can apply. She was granted her spouse visa on 30 September 2009 an and it expires on 30 December 2011, and she entered the UK on 24 October 2009. What is the earliest date she can apply?

Does she need to submit a letter from her employer for the application. I'm sure I didn't see this mentioned for the required documents but i've noticed a lot if people mention this on here?

She started work in Jan 2010 and she has all her payslips from then, she has all her bank statements from this date also. I'm guessing she doesn't need to submit every one so would 1 of each from every 2 months be ok?

I saw that postal applications can take up to 6 months. Is this the norm or just the maximum?

For the KOL test. My friend bought us a book of sample questions but it's from 2006/2007. Are these the same questions that would be asked now, if not what are the best and most up to date study aids?

We have a baby daughter who was born here and as i'm British i'm assuming she is not required to apply for ILR with my wife, as she will be a British citizen?

Fingers crossed everything will go fine with the application, but if she doesn't get the ILR visa what happens?

Thanks in advance.

No earlier than 28 days before 2nd anniversary of her entry in the UK.

Browsing through this topic should help.

Yes, if you were a British citizen at the time of her birth.
