Wife and Child Settlement Visa

Post by doitright » Tue Oct 04, 2011 3:39 pm

Calling all Immigration Gurus,

Shall be grateful for your advice on the following:

My wife is on Tier1 General dependent valid visa and currently in Pakistan. My child is born in Pakistan and is one month old. I have applied to transfer my Tier1 visa into ILR under Long Residnece category. Once I have my passport with ILR, what is the best way to get my family over?
  • Should I apply for both my wife and child under dependent of a settled person category? If yes, would that be two separate applications or my wife can include our child in her application? OR
Should I only apply for our child under dependent child and transfer wife's visa to settlement when she's over?
Thanks in advance.

ILR cannot be applied for from outside the UK, so temporary visa.

Your wife may be eligible for settlement as and when she meets 287(a). Your child will be eligible at the same time as your wife.
