BC Requirements - query

Post by erpfresh » Thu Oct 06, 2011 6:45 pm

Dear All,

I have a small query regarding British Citizenship, do we need to show the income proof (like ILR)again in order to qualify for BC

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... uirements/

I could not see any such requirement here, as far as I know, but seniors please answer my query.

Thankyou so much

No. There is no such requirement.
You will find that the naturalisation application requires much less evidence than ILR. For some cases, a passport is all that is required.

I am sorry to bother you, but I did not quite understand what this means

Evidence of exercising treaty rights for five years

We require evidence to cover the relevant five-year period. You should provide:

P60 tax certificates; or;
an employer's letter confirming employment; or
a benefits letter confirming job seekers' allowance claimed; or
a benefits letter confirming incapacity benefit claimed; or
documentary evidence confirming pension received.

If you are self-employed/business person, you should provide:

evidence from HM Revenue and Customs confirming you have paid tax over the relevant period

The section heading above the text you quote reads "Evidence required from European Economic Area and Swiss nationals".

So the question is, are you a EEA or Swiss national? I believe you are not, because you are / were applying for ILR!
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
