Moving from T1 (General) to Unmarried Partner Visa

Post by CanadianOT » Sun Oct 09, 2011 2:41 pm

Hi everyone,

I used this site a few years ago when I was applying for T1, and I'm back looking for help.

I'm currently on the T1 visa that expires in less than 6 months. Rather than applying for an extension, I'm considering applying for Unmarried Partner Visa.

Is it allowed to move from T1 to Unmarried while on the last 6 months of your T1?

Is there any potential dangers of going down this route.

Your help would be appreciated!

Possible.
Downside if you split up or are eligible for ILR sooner.
