application fees clarification

Post by isda » Thu Oct 13, 2011 5:35 pm

Hi friends,

We are going to apply for ILR this month. My husband is the main applicant under WP and im one of his dependent. We have 2 children born here in the UK one child was 2 and one child is 1 month old. Do we need to pay also the amount same as mine? So all in all, 1 main applicant,3 dependents it costs us 3thou plus in pounds. I just want to make it sure before we proceed to the application. Many thanks!

The joint application fees are clearly defined on the second page of SET(O) application form so I suggest you read that.

As they were born in the UK, if you wish, you may leave out the children from this (and save money) and, instead, apply for their Citizenship when ILR has been granted.

how soon can they apply citizenship after we are granted ILR? We plan to go for a holiday a month after.

They can apply immediately after you get ILR but it will take longer than a month. Best to apply for ILR for everyone then do the naturalization after you get back or, simply wait and do everyone together in 12 months.

Hi Lucapooka,

Thanks for the advise.

I have read the forums regarding naturalization after ILR. You have to register the children first and then apply for the passport. can you guide me on this please.

What to do first? What form to use for the registration? Fees?
After regstering, what requirements do we need for their BC passports?

Thanks in advance.
