ILR (M) - Partner claiming Child Benefit

Post by mkumar » Sun Oct 16, 2011 7:00 pm

Hi,

I am applying for ILR(m) on 19th Oct 2011. My wife and son holds British passports. My wife has been receiving Child Benefit since our son is born in Sept 2010. Is it going to affect me in getting my Indefinite Leave to Remain??
Currently my wife is not working, but we are not claiming any other benefit.
Thanks & Regards...

Just spotted this. Had you gone to the Claiming Benefits section of this board you would have seen that there is no problem about the Child Benefit.

But what about Tax Credits? Why have they not been claimed?

Did the ILR application go OK today?

Thanks John,

I had been to the Claiming benefit section and got the answer.

I have applied ILR througn Settlement checking services at Camden, it was very helpful and fast. I am very confident about the ILR now, there shouldn't be any problem.

I am thinking of claiming Tax credits, but would it affect me anyway in naturalisation?

No effect whatsoever.
