Can I do ACCA + MBA if I have already MSc?

Post by mariamuk » Sat Oct 22, 2011 10:33 am

new question:
Sorry I am trying to find what can be less costly as I am low on budget and MBA solely is v expensive, so hence change of topic:.

Can I do ACCA+MBA course at LSBF if I already have MSc Finance and Accounting. LSBF is willing to issue CAS based on my application.
Any advice or anything I need to be aware of before I go ahead with application? As I understood ACCA =NVQ 7 same level as degree, hence I can study at the same level or above. Please advise. Many thanks!

old quesiton:

Hello,

I have completed the Msc Finance and Accounting in London, and as I understand correctly the next level should be higher, hence PhD.
The question is can I do MBA, which in theory is Master of Business, but should enhance the previous studies - please let me know.

thank you

it is up to the tier 4 sponsor to confirm that your new course represents academic progress-if they do this and issue you a Cas stating that you are making progress then you can apply under tier 4 if they don't then you can't. Ukba gives an Mba as an example of progression from a taught masters so most tier 4 sponsors are likely to confirm that an Mba is academic progress.

I have just got back from talking to programme advisor at highly trusted business school in London.
I was told that even if I have completed MSc degree in FInance and accounting, their school will be
able to issue CAS certificate to study ACCA+MBA course.
I am currently on stage two and need to complete 8 more papers.
Their main point is that completing all papers is an academic progression = NVQ 7, which at same level of MSc and I will be able to extend my visa based on that.

I am in doubt:

a. I was told that I cannot do another MSc
b. that I cannot do ACCA course as it is not progression from some sources.

Could you please clear the myths and let me know if I can trust this.

Thank you in advance

you can do another MSC as long as your college is willing to offer you CAS but please bear in mind that due to the recent changes in the way University of Wales worked, it might not be possible for UoW to validate the external degrees offered by colleges like LSBF. Make sure you clarify this from your college as well as some reliable external sources. (I would suggest University of Wales directly)

IMO

Hi, anyone with experience of extending student visa (granted to do MSc) on the basis of a new MBA course?

London School of Business and Finance is not providing MBA of UoW any more, they have introduced MBA of London Metropolitan University now. Keep update yourself before commenting to such issues brother.
