Tier 1 extension query

Post by christophercpotter » Sun Oct 30, 2011 9:16 am

I am in the process of trying to apply for tier 1 extension. Do I fill in the tier 1 general from again or is there a specific form for tier 1 extension that I must fill in. Also, will I have to show my degree etc again? Any other useful tips?

1. How to get a premium appointment booking- I keep checking online and ringing up but there are never any appointment slots available. Are there any tricks to getting appointments
2. What are the waiting times if I send it in via post i.e. how long would I be without my passport for
3. What is a biometric residence permit and how do I get one. When I first applied from Australia in 2008 I believe that they took some of this information from me but I can't remember
4. Do I need to send my qualificaion degree if I claimed points for it last time as my degree certificate is still in Australia
5. I worked part of this year as a self contractor through my own limited company- i.e. my paychecks are not simply pay as you earn from your employer. Is this a problem and is there anything I need to do extra?
6. What are my options for getting a company to do all of thi for me and what would be the cheapest total cost (INCLUDING visa processing costs)

1. No. The only key is to keep trying until you see a slot available. Alternatively, book by phone.
2. Browse the relevant sticky topic.
3. Check the sticky topic.
4. Reading the policy guidance will help.
5. As above.
6. There is no cheapest way. One must pay the fees associated with the application. Whether your company will bear such costs is a matter to be discussed between you and your company.

D2: ''where did the applicant obtain entry clearance or a visa before travelling to the UK'' Do they mean for the INITIAL entry i.e. in 2007 as a working holiday or LATEST entry in 2009 as a highly skilled migrant? Similarly in D3 ''what date was the entry clearance or visa issued'' are they meaning my working holiday 2007 or tier 1 2009? In question D9/D10 they ask when did I arrive in the UK and for what purpose are they referring to my initial 2007 working holiday or 2009 tier 1?
