Tier 1 Extension - A few quick questions

Post by nicolev » Sun Nov 06, 2011 7:54 pm

I have a few questions with my tier 1 extension application that I was after some advice on please:

1. In regards to my income one month has a bonus payment in addition to my base which I have counted towards the annual salary - is this correct?

The amount was about 3k so it places me in a different bracket and I am keen to include if its possible

2. The bank will not sign the statements! only stamp them, is this okay?

What I have for current account to demonstrate earnings is stamped copies sent from Barclays with a covering letter, is this okay? (for earnings I only have stamped and signed payslips and also a letter from my employer). Alternatively, do you suggest I get these certified??

3. For D11 "current immigration status" - do I just put Tier 1 General and the expiry date?

4. I am applying in person. Just to confirm biometrics are done that day and I don't need to do anything special to book this as it is part of the appointment ?

Advice is very much appreciated.

Thank you!

Nicole

101. Earnings may include, among other
things:
• salaries (includes full-time, part-time, and
bonuses
);
• earnings from self-employment;
• earnings from business activities;
• statutory and contractual maternity pay and
statutory and contractual adoption pay;
• allowances (such as accommodation,
schooling or car allowances) that form part
of an applicant’s remuneration package;

2. The bank will not sign the statements! only stamp them, is this okay?
All statements must be on the bank’s
stationery, unless the applicant is submitting
electronic statements.
Ad hoc bank statements printed on the
bank’s letterhead/stationery are admissible as
evidence (this excludes mini-statements from
cash points).
If the applicant wishes to submit electronic
bank statements from an online account these
must contain all of the details listed above.
In addition, the applicant will need to provide
either:
• a supporting letter from his/her bank,
on company headed paper, confi rming the
authenticity of the statements; or
• an electronic bank statement bearing
the offi cial stamp of the bank in question will
be accepted. This stamp should appear on
every page of the statement.
We will not accept statements which show
the balance in the account on a particular
day as these documents do not show that the
applicant holds enough funds for the full period
needed.

I think you will benefit greatly from reading the Policy Guidance document. I have copied and pasted some of the explanations from that document. Hope this helps.
