ILR success (HSMP JR) - Sheffield

Post by snowflake007 » Thu Nov 10, 2011 6:00 pm

Hi everyone,

Just thought of sharing my experience at the sheffield office.

After entry checks, directed towards the counter where the check was made regarding correct form and supporting docs. I was then directed to the payment counter to make the premium payment. At the counter itself , the documents were taken off me and I was advised to wait.

Kept an eye on the screen in front and saw my number among the cases being reviewed by the case workers. This was after 15 mins of my allocated time. I waited 40 mins and then was called by the case worker, who was friendly and adviced me that there wasnt anything specific she wanted to know and it all looked fine..told me it wud take another hour. no questions asked.

waited another 40 mins and called back by case worker who said i had got the ILR and would have it on my passport in 10 mins, and handed back all the docs.

waited further 30 mins and was relieved to see the stamp on passport.

suggestions:--

1) I submitted all docs in a very organised manner arranged in a file.
2) Do photocopy- the case worker thanked me for doing the same.
3)I declared convictions even though people here on the forum had said that I didnt have anything to declare.. the case worker confirmed there was nothing i needed to declare. I declare the little stories that I had -just to be safe.

4) I came under HMSP(JR) so didnt need to fill in section 9.

5) I submitted 12 months bank statements, 12 pay slips, 5 P60's, letter from HMRC showing my record of economic activity, all employment letters since last 5 years and last years tax return as well.

I probably submitted more than I needed to, but I guess the positive point was- No questions asked. straightforward grant of ILR.

Good luck guys. thanks for the support this forum provided in answering my questions.

cheers
