Application fee not deducted from Banker's Demand Draft

Hi
I have applied for Tier-1 visa extension by post on 31/Oct/2011 and Royal Mail confirmed that it is received by HO (Durham Office) on 01/Nov/2011.
I have paid application fee through Banker's Demand Draft (HSBC). I haven't got any reference number or Ack Letter so far.
I have gone to HSBC Branch and enquired whether money has been deposited into HO's account. Bank Manager said that DD is not still deposited and hence money is not credited to the HO account.
It has been 10 working days so far over.
Can anybody tell me what I should do now? My employer is asking for HO refrence number.
Kindly help..
