Hi All,
The discussion on 'points for Bachelor's degree has prompted me to register with this forum. However I have a bit different story and I hope to get some response particularly from the Moderator or someone who has got the ILR based on the same facts.
HSMP = June 2007 (valid upto June 2009)
Tier 1 = Application received by HO on 03/04/09, Visa stamped on May 2009.
Start Date for Tier 1 = June 2009
Tier 1 Expiry = June 2012.
Given the above dates and the fact that after 31st March 2009, there were no points for Bachelor degree, the letter which is normally received along with the passport states that 30 points were awarded for Bachelor's degree. First I thought how was that possible but then reading this forum I found that they gave points on the basis that Tier 1 was an extension to my HSMP and applied within the UK. Therefore this clarifies that query. [Let me know if I understood wrong]
But then the 50 million dollar question is that if the regulation says that no points will be given to anyone who's Tier 1 falls outside the 31st March boundary, and having said that I applied after 31st March, will I get 30 points in this case.......OR
Since I was awarded 30 points based on my previous HSMP and my tier 1 does not fall under the 'new' rules after 31st March 2009 but since the HO received the application after 31st March 2009, therefore I will get no points.
Can some one clarify so that I can start planning my action after June 2012.
Rgds,
