BC for Child on ILR

Post by valluvan » Fri Nov 18, 2011 2:05 pm

Hi all,
Myself, wife and my child applied for ILR in March 2011 and got it.
I recently spoke to someone who said it is not required for the ILR to be applied for the child and I had wasted my money by including the child fee money  .

Is it true, that it is enough if just myself and wife had got ILR and we could have applied for BC straight away for the child using MN1??. If yes then can we apply for BC for my child now and then myself and my wife apply for BC in march 2012?.

Cheers
Val

If the child was born out of the UK, you can only apply for registration as british citizen when either parent apply for naturalisation. Not earlier.

Sorry If I appear to be thick...but do you mean that we all 3 could submit our applications at the same time??(i.e MN1 for the child and the normal applicaitons for us both??)

Correct. Fee wise, there is no reduction for a child applying together with his parents.
