Success: WP + Tier 1 (General) - PEO Croydon 17/11/11

Post by ad_ke » Fri Nov 18, 2011 2:40 pm

Hello,

I would like to provide my experience after applying for my ILR application at Croydon. The forum has helped me plan my application and hope this helps others.

My ILR application was made up of a WP (3 yrs) + Tier 1 (2 yrs) - I applied around 25 days before my 5 years were to complete at the Croydon PEO.

Appointment was for 8am - got there for 7.30am - luckily was the first one to go in which was good. They check your appointment number outside, once again inside at the entrance, then you pass through security checks (let me take my phones and laptop without issue).

You then get to the application check area. They look at your form, at this stage they only asked if I had the documents and gave me my queue number (its like a bank style counter). You then go to the first floor and pay for the application - keep the receipt and queue number.

You will then be called by caseworker - she reviewdc all my documents. I ensured my 12 month payslips and bank statement + copies were ready which was most important.

I had been out of the country for over 280 days which raised some concern. I was not able to get letters from all old employers so caseworker had to discuss this will supervisor. (I recommend if you have travelled for work - try and get a letter from all employers with the detail). The supervisor accepted the documents I had.

Aim to have all P60's - it helped prove employement for all years.

Got my ILR around 10.45 - Approx 2.5 hrs wait (Went out for a few minutes.)

Congrats! Can you please help with following questions:

1) What was the break-up of 280 days? (business travel vs paid vacation vs unpaid vacation)

2) Was any trip over 90 days?

3) Did you notice the CW going through each and every trip on your spreadsheet? (presumably you would have provided a list of all absences?)

4) Were all the stamps on your passport(s) readable for all the trips in last 5 years?

1) 280 days - 190 days vacation and 90 days business travel - no unpaid vacation. (they do not ask anywhere what was paid and unpaid)

2) No trips over 90 days

3) She did a calculation of all the trips for two totals herself. She then deducted my work travel and asked me is the 190 day and 90 day split was correct. Since it was over the 180 threshold she discussed this with the supervisor

4) We dont have stamps when leaving UK, and I always came in using IRIS (which I was eligible for once I got my Tier 1), so hardly ever got stamps coming into the country unless I was fly into a non core-London airport. It was a difficult task calculating my holidays/work travel but I used my booking emails which helped.
