Something along similar lines may already have been asked - apologies if that is so.
My situation is as follows:
I am a UK citizen. My partner of five years is an Indonesian citizen. We plan to marry in Indonesia early next year, and would like to move to the UK soon afterwards (we met while I was resident and working in Indonesia; for the last couple of years I have been self-employed, technically resident in the UK, but actually spending most of the time in Indonesia on social visas).
We both plan to work in the UK, pretty much as soon as we arrive there (in the hospitality industry, which is both of our background).
The various aspects of the visa requirements are clear enough to us - the English test requirement is no problem (her degree was taught in English, and even if it's not recognised she will certainly have no problem at all passing the required tests).
Our relationship certainly won't raise any eyebrows, as we have lived together for several years, and she has previously visted the UK on a visit visa sponsored by my parents.
The big question, however, is the maintenance requirement. My self-employed income is small (hence I plan to return to full-time employment in the UK), we have a small amount of savings, but certainly not enough to count as support for two years. However, my parents are willing to act as third-party sponsors if this is possible.
We will be living rent free in a holiday appartment belonging to my parents when we first move to the UK.
So, does anyone know, a) if such third party support for both accomodation and maintenance is acceptable,
and b) what kind of documentation would be required as support (on both counts - housing and maintenance).
And c) if there is anyone out there with experience of applying for a spouse visa under similar circumstances, I very much like to hear your experiences!
Thanks all
