You can't do much more than keep trying to contact that person/entity: without them the project is dead in the water.desperado wrote:1. A work permit was applied for my friend by someone and the person who applied the work permit is uncontactable and unreachable. So my friend doesn't know what happened or what status to her work permit or whether work permit was even applied. Under this circumstances what should we do?
Unaware of any special processing times for this type of WP; presume it's the current standard (see various posts on this subject).desperado wrote:2. Does anyone know how long does it take to process sports and entertainment work permit?
Your friend cannot self-petition for a WP, no matter what umbrellas are used for this purpose; the government will try to make sure that WP is given for a genuine employment by a bona fide employer, and not by proxies of your friend. It may be worth to look into ways to set up an independent business, if your friend has enough resources (about GBP200,000 to invest) and a good business plan that will convince the authorities.desperado wrote:3. My friend runs a xyz sports academy abroad and wants to start a xyz sports academy in this country. He lived and trained english national team in xyz sports for 9 years and had ILR but he left the country for over two years and lost his ILR. My question is can he get back his ILR? or Can he start his academy in this country from abroad and process his own work permit for him? or Can someone run the academy for him and process a work permit for him and then handover the power of attorney to him after successful work permit? What are his options?
Glad to be of help, but, in turn, do appreciate your patience and advance research on the basic questions.desperado wrote:Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
I'm really sorry about that. I promised my friends I'll give some information to them before they fly back home tonight. That's why I had to rush. Truly sorry about that.Cosmopol wrote:Glad to be of help, but, in turn, do appreciate your patience and advance research on the basic questions.
If I were to start a xyz Sports Academy and I appoint him to work for me as a head coach then there is nothing wrong in doing that. Am I right? He has to remain my employee until he gets his ILR (4 years) and after that he is eligible to do whatever he wants to do.Cosmopol wrote:Your friend cannot self-petition for a WP, no matter what umbrellas are used for this purpose; the government will try to make sure that WP is given for a genuine employment by a bona fide employer, and not by proxies of your friend. No probs, it's just again, since this board is not staffed, but is supported by irregular volunteer efforts, I'd normally expect folks in urgent need of info to start fishing around, instead of asking for fish... Don't take it personally, I'm just using this opportunity to once again appeal to members to be proactive in their quests...desperado wrote: I'm really sorry about that. I do hear your logic, but my point is more practical than theoretical: the WP process is not automatic, but is subject to approval based on various criteria; the UK government issues WPs to aid bona fide UK employers, and not those desiring to move to the country. In the process of approval they will seek to uncover and deny any plots and schemes that aid a prospective migrant and not an established UK employer. For example, they will want to know the number of employees in WP sponsor's firm, how long it's in business, what were the efforts to employ UK residents, etc. DOn't think it's easy - they've been in this business longer than you.desperado wrote:If I were to start a xyz Sports Academy and I appoint him to work for me as a head coach then there is nothing wrong in doing that. I could pay all the profits that I make as bonus and salary to him can't I? It is really sad that he lived and trained the English National team for 9 years and lost his ILR after leaving this country over two years.
