Days on absence...ILR

Hi,

We entered UK in dec2006 and have completed 5 years with WP and the Tier1.
The total days out of UK at present is 167 days, with no continous period of 90days or more.

We have to visit India in emergency (paid leave on compassionate grounds) and so we are thinking of applying for ILR once we return in january2012. This will make our days out of country to become approximately 195.

Now, we understand we will have to apply with an employers letter stating the leaves were all paid(since they would then exceed 180days).
The query is that the letter needs to be of total period of absence or could just be of excess days, like days above 180days?

Also that since the new leaves (end dec 2011 to mid Jan 2012) are due to take fall out of qualifying period (10 dec 2006 - 10 dec 2011), will they be counted in 180 days once we apply on our return in Jan 2012?

The "qualifying residential period" is the 5 years preceding the settlement application.

Now we are confused about the naturalization fee. If we skip to apply our daughters ILR, can anyone please suggest the fee and time needed to apply for her British citizenship and passport ( she is born in UK) directly?

Few people suggested it's 50pounds only, but I am unable to verify that.

Minors do not apply for naturalisation, but for registration.

Sorry , I stand corrected. We needed to know the fees for registration.

As per my understanding, we need to fill MN1 form for her registration as a British citizen, is it correct? This shows the fees as 540 pounds.
Then second step would be her passport?

Why did people say it would be around 50pounds? Also can you please help with timelines for this procedure?
