I got my ILR on Wednesday. Have been here for 5 years on a Work Permit (Working Holiday before). My british partner and I are getting married soon and I'm a bit confused about when I can apply for Naturalisation because the guidance notes say:
"If you are married to or the civil partner of a British citizen, you will need to be free from
immigration time restrictions on the date you make your application.
If you are not married to or the civil partner of a British citizen you should have been free
of immigration time restrictions during the last 12 months of the 5 year qualifying period."
So does this mean that if I get married next month I can apply for Citizenship straight away or because my ILR was based on my Work Permit I must still wait the full 12 months?
Thanks
