visa almost expired

Post by naaka » Fri Dec 02, 2011 2:30 pm

hi i sent off my application for ILR on the 14.11.2011 but due to technical reasons payment could not be authorised by the bank. As soon as i realised this i contacted UKBA to have my document returned and have not received them yet, i have been in touh with them a couple of times finding out the progress of the post and this morning morning again, been told they were posted on the 29.11.2011 using dx secure delivery. I have been in touch with dx and they could not see my package on their data base. Called UKBA again and was told it could take up to 4 working days in some cases. Really worried because my visa expires on the 7.12.2011. Please advice me what to do just in case i have not got back my application yet by the 7.12

Instead of asking UKBA to return the application / documents, you should have made arrangements to pay through alternate means (e.g. - postal order) and posted those.

Make sure that you have everything ready - to send off the application again as soon as you receive your documents back.

Do you have the DX tracking number for your package? If not, try and get it from UKBA - will help knowing if it's been shipped and when you can expect to receive.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

Did you get your passport and documents back. Be orepared with a bankers draft so that you can post it as soon as it comes. It is Ok as along as you POST it using ROYAL MAIL even on the last day of your expiry.
