HSMP - what information?

Post by spatel07 » Fri Sep 29, 2006 3:11 pm

Hi

My cousin is planning to apply for HSMP soon. He is currently in the process of gathering all the information in order to support his application. He is just confused on one matter that is:

He has worked for his current company for just over 5 years now. During his first 3 years he was just an employee and then was given the chance to join his company as a director. Since he became director, does this mean he became self-employed?

Also, regarding the letter from the company, does he need letter confirming he was an employee in the first 3 years and then a director? Also, he did not go to university so has no graduate qualification. Does the letter need to state that his role in the company is one of someone who is of graduate level?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply olisun but what about the following which is clearly outlined in the HSMP guidance notes:

"Graduate level work experience would normally be gained in a role within a company or institution that would require the post holder to have a minimum educational standard of degree level qualification. You DO NOT necessarily have to hold a degree; rather, that the post held would normally require one. It is important that the references that you supply include a job description with a detailed breakdown of duties and responsibilities, in order to illustrate that the post is at the appropriate level."

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.
