Hi All,
I am very new here. I was just wondering if there is anybody applied for ILR on 05.12.2011 at PEO, Croydon. I applied on that day, my visa category is under HSMP, Judicial Review. The issue I am trying to tell you that UKBA, PEO, Croydon had their IT system broken on that day and did not return any passport with the ILR sticker to any applicant.
The caseworker was satisfied with my papers and just kept our (my wife and I were there) passports and told us that they will call us later to collect the passports from their office. Still I haven't got any call from them.
I used the same day premium service. They should have given me the passports on the same day.
Now, is there anybody out there had this kind of experience? For how long do I have to wait for their call? Can I call PEO, Croydon to know the status of my passport?
I hope to get some answers from the other members.
Thanks
dstar

Hello Mate..
Have you received any letter from UKBA on 5th which says "application is valid but there are further enquiries that need to be made on your case"

Hi,
Nope.. The did not give me any letter. My case officer said as the system is not working they could not check some information and more over she said my application was valid. Gave one acknowledgement paper, which confirms that they just have our passports.. Asked me to take that paper to collect our passports when they call me.
Why? Have you applied for ILR on the same day?
Thanks

Hello
I applied for ILR on 5.12.2011 at PEO croydon through a Solicitor. Apparently they kept all the documents and asked him to come back the next day as it wasn't processed the same day. On 6th they handed him a letter which says 'application is valid but there are further enquiries that need to be made on your case and as such your application has been passed to a team where these enquires can be made'
I was told that quite a few letters were given out to other representatives.
Mine is a pretty straightforward application. 5 yr WP, same employer, Had all the documents... bank statements, employers letter with SOC and confirmation on salary , salary slips etc etc so i don't really understand the need for further enquires. Wonder if it was done just get some extra time to complete the backlog of applications!
Well, hope I don't have to wait long..
Good luck with your application.
Regards
S

Could you please let me know what is SOC and employer letter with SOC.
I had initially 5 year WP and later switched to Tier1. Working with same employer for 5 years. I have taken employer letter but there is nothing called SOC mentioned in my employer letter. Is it mandatory?
please reply. Its urgent.

Hi shellygh14
can you plz tell which solicitor services you used, as my ILR is due in march and thinking of using services of a good solicitor. I intend to use same day service as well via solicitor.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
They asked me as well if I like them to post the docs, I knew somehow that every govt organisation has some problems with posting things.. This is why I told them keep my passports, call when ready and wanted to collect. And collected my passports on 09.12.2011.
Wish you will receive your passport very soon. Good luck mate.
Thanks

hello Yogiyogi
I think you are still okay as you're on Tier 1. SOC is Standard occupational classification. Thats something for tier 2 and work permit applicants.
Acc to the new guidelines, the employer's letter should state the SOC code which closely match the employee's job role and confirm in writing that the employee is being paid at or above the appropriate rate for the job!
hope that answers your query.
Best wishes

Hi All,
I also applied on 5th in Cryodon at premium rate. My appointment was at 8:15 and they told me ILR will be granted to me, but there needs a minor check to be done. Since the IT system is broken, they cannot proceed. At 12 pm they gave me option to wait till evening or they can post in 5 working days.
I am still waiting, and no response from them. Has anyone received in post?
