Living together as husband and wife FLR(M)

Post by miss_teacher » Mon Dec 19, 2011 10:53 pm

Hi all,
Myself and my boyfriend of 2 and a half years are considering marriage in the next year or so. We have talked about it and are starting to plan it. I am a UK citizen and he is Indian and here under the Tier 1 General Visa. However, we currently live in different cities because of work commitments and are concerned that with jobs being few and far between (due to the recession) that should we get married, it may be a few months before we could find a place to live together. We are both committed Christians and do not want to live together before we marry, only once we are husband and wife. My question is, on the FLR(M) form, it asks you to declare that you are 'living together as husband and wife and intend to do so permanently.'

My question is, what would be considered as living together as husband and wife? Would the application be rejected if we were not yet living together? I would appreciate any help on this matter, thanks in advance :-)

Yes, and if you start now you would need to fulfill 2 years in that capacity before you became eligible.

i think she is talking about whether they need to live together once they are married (as they don't want to live together before they are married).

yes i mean would we need to live together immediately after marriage...i am worried that if it takes him a few months to find a job in this part of the country that we would be rejected. Any advice would be so much appreciated!

if you are not living together at the time of the application, and if you can't provide evidence that you are living together, then your application will be refused.
