EEA confirmation letter sent to diff address . Mystery.

Post by denispearl » Tue Dec 27, 2011 4:14 pm

Hi Guys.
Please advice.

I have moved in London in August 2011 Then in October applied for PR via EEA4,with special delivery envelopes included. They are obviously wee signed with my London's address.
So then(3 weeks later) I have received confirmation letter from HO on my CARDIFF's address!!!

Let me explain. I lived in Cardiff before moved to London, but how and why would HO send the letter there?I haven mentioned Cardiff's address anywhere in application form, nor on return envelopes!
So now I dont know where would HO send my passports back. Mind i have special delivery envelopes included signed for my Londons' address.

Please advice should I have put this case further/ investigate it or leave it as it is as my old house mates in Cardiff are people i can rely on?

AND NOW I HAVE LOST CONFIRMATION OF POSTING FOR RETURN ENVELOPES:(

Also could you please advice on phone number needed to call in order to ask passports return due to emergency travel (as my wife need it)?

I think i might just ring them and ask whether they do still have passports and where they intend to sent them.

Thank you

Mcovet said on another post on a similar topic:

"Call them on 0845 010 5200 (the emergency travel number) and choose the right options to speak to the EU team. They can confirm whether they have or have not received your app. Also, the same number but different options, you could request your passport back for "travel". This way they will have to find it to send you back just the travel docs, without withdrawing your application.

See this page on what to do if you need your passport back.

I suspect they used an address they already had in their system (did you use the Cardiff address in previous applications?). Call them using the number in the post above and ask them to update the address.

Hi. Thanks for the answers guys.

That is the mystery. I did not provided HO with CArdiff address. This is my 2nd address there and no chance HO would know. And i dont think my wife has informed them aswell. Any thoughts?

You can complain and ask UKBA where they got the address. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... complaint/

Or you can do a SAR and see what might be on your file: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/navig ... onal-data/
