UK Asylum for citizens of Syria

Post by karim_9876 » Sat Dec 31, 2011 7:34 pm

Hello,

I need general advice on seeking asylum in the UK. I entered the UK on Sept-2010 as a Tier4 student and finished my studies. My visa expires on 19-Jan-2012 and I'm considering applying for an Asylum given the severe political situation and uprising that has been taking place in my home country (Syria) since March-2011. I come form the city where all the protests against the current ruling regime have originated and people are facing brutal suppression and killing from the government and security forces.

I need to know what are the chances of getting an Asylum in my situation? one thing to mention is that I have the option of applying for the PSW visa but this is still a temporary permit.

Any advice would be much appreciated

1. Each case is dealth with its own merits.
2. In u case, the initial points are that wen u entered the country there were no protests in Syria so u were not affected in any way.
3. U did not leave Syria cuz of the protests but came here for study.
4. Rest will be watever u say in u asylum application and how u convince the HO that u life will be in danger if u go back to Syria.
5. U do not have a very valid case for assylum.
6. U best chance is to apply for PSW.

Thanks for the feedback.

I personally think that the PSW option will count against me in this case.
