Passport validity for Tier 1 visa traveller

Hi experts,

I am Indian citizen and have valid Indian passport. I am working in a UK company on Tier 1 (General) Leave to remain visa valid till May 2013 . I want to go to India for 2 week holidays from 3th Jan 2012 and back on 15th Jan 2012 to join my job after holidays.

My passport is valid 17th March 2012 i.e. 2months and 2 days on day of my return at UK airport.

I am not aware of any rule regarding Passport validity period. Kindly enlighten me if any rule is there in this regard. I also want expert opinion that I will not face any problem during entry in UK at airport.

I searched on ukba website, it states:

If you have temporary permission to stay in the UK (known as 'limited leave to remain'), you are free to travel abroad and return here. When you return, you must be able to show the immigration officer at the port or airport:

1. a valid visa allowing you entry to the UK; and
2. evidence that you are re-entering for the same purpose as is stated on your visa.


Can anyone help me, will there be any problem to enter into UK?
how much passport validity lead time is required to enter into UK?
I am thinking to renew passport in UK once I land in there.
