Extension Question, pls advice...

Post by coolsats » Tue Jan 03, 2012 8:30 pm

Hi Guys,

I ve been contracting for the last 1.5 years, and runs my own limited company. It came to its natural end in october'2011 as it was not extended. Since October, I ve had no luck in getting a new contract. But am paying myself salary and dividends from my business account as usual and have my proper payslips and dividend voucher. My Question is :

1) Suppose if i get another contract in February will that be an issue during extension as I was out of work from October to February. My extn is due in April.

2) During the initial application for Tier 1, my salary was equivalent to 45000 pounds. Do i need to show the same salary again?

Pls advice guys...

I'll leave Q2 to the visa experts but as far as Q1 goes you as an individual never have been out of work. You remain continuously employed by your company. Just because the company itself hasn't gained any work from October to February doesn't mean you have stopped being employed by them - only when you issue yourself a P45 does that happen.
Please don't private message me or e-mail me for free personal advice - you are just wasting your time writing something that won't get answered.
Anything written here shouldn't be construed as being formal advice given in a professional capacity.

Hi,

You don't necessarily need to show the exact same earning which in your case was £45,000.

You need to show the relevant earnings that will give you at least the minimum required points you need to qualify for your extension. Depending on the total score you got in your initial application, the earning bracket you may need to meet may be less, but make sure that it gives you at the very least the minimum points you need to qualify.

Kind Regards

Thanks for the quick reply guys.

After going through the extension threads sometimes the case worker also asks for INVOICES. I have all the Invoices that I raised to my agency for payments till October. What if the case worker asks for invoices from October till Feb?

Pls Advice
